I have a deep yearning to search out the real deep truths of our Savior Yeshua and embrace them, even when these truths go against age-old traditional teaching that has been passed down from one church generation to another.
2 Timothy 2:15 exhorts us to study and seek Him—the LORD—our Savior Yeshua as approved of God—workmen that are not ashamed to discern the Word of Truth.
As in Psalm 119:10, 34 I pray “with my whole heart I seek the LORD and plead with Him to give me understanding.”
In Mark 4:9 Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Have you ever wondered why and how traditions get started? Sadly, many traditions are followed without any thought of how they started and continued on because that is what has always been done.
So many church traditions have unintentionally and unknowingly embraced the names and rituals of the demonic and satanic.
Yet because of "tradition" these falsehoods are highly esteemed as the strength of Christianity.
Where does our strength, security, and eternity lie?
In Christ, Yeshua, Jesus, Emanuel, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, The Everlasting Father, The Way, The Truth, The Life, The Word.
So based on that truth and foundation, is the dismaying and shocking discovery that what is the most sacred celebration of the resurrection of our Savior Yeshua—the day that brought us eternal salvation from our sin—is commonly known as Easter — a name of a false pagan idol worshiper.
Would Christian churches and individual Christians be willing to research where the name Easter comes from? Would you be willing to re-think some things and change to celebrate Resurrection Day instead? Does it really matter what the origin is as long as we are trying to celebrate the hope of our Savior's resurrection? Do words and traditions have meaning and consequences?
Psalm 96:8, 105:3 106:47, and 115:1 says we are to give glory and honor only to His name!!
Isaiah 42:8 says “I am the LORD, that is My name!! I will not yield My glory to another or share the praise due Me with idols.
Deuteronomy 4:23-24 Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that He made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the LORD your God has forbidden. For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Matthew 12:36 teaches us that we should be diligent against idle words and teachings in order to give glory and honor wholly and completely to our Creator and Savior, The Sovereign LORD God Almighty.
